Questions

Do I need an API key?

No. Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and Claude Code sign in with your Autobound account. The tool opens a sign-in window, you click Allow, and the connection uses that workspace. Scripts and agents that cannot open a window send an API key as a Bearer token instead.

Which credits does a connected tool use?

The credits of the workspace you picked when you clicked Allow. Tool calls cost the same as REST calls. A new account starts with 1,000 free credits.

How do I disconnect a tool?

Open Integrations & MCP in the portal (https://signalapi.autobound.ai/integrations) and click Disconnect next to the tool. The tool loses access within a minute. A connection that is not used for 30 days expires, and the tool asks you to sign in again.

Can the connector change my account?

No. The tools read data and account details. Three tools create something: the two intent exports and addToMonitoringPool. No tool can change your account, keys, team or billing.

I use the old SSE address. What changes?

The address https://mcp.autobound.ai/sse with an x-api-key header works until December 1, 2026. Replace it with https://mcp.autobound.ai/mcp and remove the header. Your tool then asks you to sign in.

What is the difference between the MCP server and the REST API?

The data and the prices are the same. The REST API is for code and pipelines. The MCP server gives the same calls to an AI assistant as tools, so you ask in plain language and the assistant picks the tool and the filters.

What does Autobound keep when a tool is connected?

The Autobound MCP server is at https://mcp.autobound.ai/mcp (Streamable HTTP). Clients sign in with OAuth through the Autobound portal.
